I’d like to thank Nathan and the team at Wendy’s Broadcadst for all their help. They have been supplying me with custom cables, made to the highest standard over many year. The low profile connectors are hard to find, yet they normally ship the finished leads the day after ordering, often to studios or locations where I am filming and I’ve never had to ask for any adjustments or corrections; They are right first time, despite my requiring some unusual bespoke wiring. I’ve also benefited from real world advice about products and fault finding. Wendy’s Broadcast have made location sound far less stressful.
The d:vote™ CORE 4099 Clamp Mount Mic kit is the result of DPA’s extensive research and development into creating the ultimate microphone for live instrument performance or recordings. The CORE 4099 contains a highly directional capsule designed for use in ensembles, pit, stage and orchestral settings where other instruments and monitoring may be in close proximity. The pick up pattern of the capsule ensures maximum isolation of the musician with incredibly low self-noise and high gain before feedback.
The d:vote CORE 4099 Clamp Mount Microphone kit includes the Loud SPL 4099 variation, which has a dynamic range of 108dB and can withstand up to 142dB before clipping. The CORE by DPA amplifier technology assists in the production of a very transparent sound so that even in the unlikely event of spill, there are no unnatural harsh frequencies to deal with. Read about CORE amplifier technology here.
The CORE 4099 mic capsule produces a very natural sound, both on and off axis, so that even in the unlikely event of spill, there are no unnatural harsh frequencies to deal with. Its mounting system is designed to securely attach the gooseneck microphone to the instrument by way of a velcro strap with rubber mount which is very simple to fit and re-attach when required, without any marks or damage to the instrument.
The 4099 Clamp Mount mic comes with a DAD6001-BC XLR adapter which requires 48v phantom power and features a low cut built-in, but the mic can also be used with a wireless microphone system when coupled with the correct DPA adaptor.
Despite being designed for instruments, the 4099 is proving to be a great solution for in-car audio capture. As previously stated, the microphone is terminated with a microdot but can also be hardwired for a small fee.
For a wireless microphone, choose between an adapter system (Microdot), or a hardwired connector (See Below)
